Steve Blount

Steve Blount (Norman Thayer) is a veteran of the WDI stage. He has appeared in numerous productions, including FDR in Annie (his favorite role to date), Professor Marvel and Oz in The Wizard of Oz, Sheriff Tate in To Kill a Mockingbird, Porter Milgrim in Deathtrap, and, most recently, as George Read in 1776 . He also recently appeared as physicist Niels Bohr in a production of Copenhagen produced by the Vex Theatre Company. Steve has directed several WDI productions, the most recent being 20th Century last January, and frequently assists with set construction and props, where he often collaborates with his wife, Alice. Steve dedicates his performance to his father, Richard, who left us earlier this year at the “golden” age of 95. He struggled with memory loss during his last years but, like Norman Thayer, faced it with dignity and an irrepressible sense of humor. So Dad, this one’s for you.
