August: Osage County Audition Notice

Wheaton Drama is pleased to announce auditions for August: Osage County by Tracy Letts.
A vanished father. A pill-popping mother. Three sisters holding secrets. When the Weston
family reunites after Dad’s disappearance; the family erupts with hidden truths and long buried
secrets. August: Osage County is a Pulitzer Prize winning play which will leave audiences
“laughing and wondering, shuddering and smiling long after the house lights are back on”. –
New York Newsday.

This is an unpaid, non-Equity production
This play contains strong language, adult situations and violence.
Due to the nature of the show, we require that all auditioners be of
18 years of age or older.

Performances are March 28 – April 13. Showtimes: Th/Fri/Sat: 7:30 p.m. Sun 2:00 p.m.

Auditions will be held Sunday Feb. 2 from 6pm to 10 pm. and Monday Feb. 3 from 7pm to 10pm
at the theater, 111 N. Hale Street, Wheaton. Auditions are by appointment.

Callbacks, if necessary, will be Tuesday, Feb 5 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

This production will have an Intimacy Director using foundational elements of consent. Please
review the Intimacy Disclosure Information on the Audition form if interested in auditioning.

REHEARSALS
The first cast meeting and readthrough will be Saturday Feb.8 at the theater. Rehearsals will
begin Monday, Feb. 10 and will be held on Sunday evenings and Monday through Thursday
evenings. Not all cast members will be called for all rehearsals.

Auditions will consist of:

Acting: prepare your choice of a one-minute modern monologue (no Shakespeare please). Or,
monologues can be provided for you upon request to the Gmail audition address, specifying the
character(s) you’d like to audition for. You will also read a scene for the character of your
choice.

Callbacks: will consist of readings from the show. Everyone called back will receive sides
containing scenes. A callback does not guarantee that you will be cast; not being called back
does not necessarily mean you have not been cast.
