Kids & Teens Workshops
STUDENTS āACTING IT UPā AT WHEATON DRAMA
A six week workshop designed to strengthen the acting āmuscleā for students in grades 3 through 8. Through acting games and exercises, each week students will work on a different aspect of acting technique such as movement, voice, characterization, pantomime, plus others. Teamwork, focus and listening are added benefits in this acting workshop. Students will also work on a short 15 min skit to apply the skills learned and will perform at the end of the last class. All sessions will be on Thursday afternoons at 4:30 – 5:30:
- Dates: October 3, 10, 17 & 24 – November 7 & 14
- WHERE: 111 N. Hale Street, Wheaton, IL 60187
- TUITION: $125
Note: Classes are subject to change based on enrollment. Registration for each class will be open one month before the class begins. If there are not enough students enrolled in the class, it may be canceled. Notification of a canceled class will be sent out the weekend prior to the start of class and all money will be refunded.Ā All decisions will be made the Sunday before the class starts and communicated to families ASAP. Registration for the class closes April 1st at 12 PM
Staff
Rachelle Kates has been our teacher of our after school program, and she is also one of our teachers for our summer workshop. Rachelle has spent the last 10 years teaching music to students aged 18 months ā 8 years. She also has a sophomore son. For over 20 years, Rachelle has been a part of theatre in one way or another. She has acted, sung and now is a teacher / director. āI love theatre, I love kids. Itās my honor and pleasure to be able to help these kids find their love and passion for the stage.ā
