Auditions for shows at Wheaton Drama are open to all. You do not need to be a member to audition, but you will be required to become a member if cast. You can find out more about becoming a member here. Audition notices are posted here on our website, at our theatre, released to Chicagoland audition boards, and posted on our social media channels. Requirements for auditioning will vary by show and be included the audition notices below. It is the general policy of Wheaton Drama that there is no pre-casting for any show unless uniquely required, approved by the Board of Governors, and announced as part of the casting process. In short, all roles are open to all who audition.

Out of Order Auditions

Out of Order Auditions

Auditions are open for Out of Order at Wheaton Drama! This high-energy British farce features mistaken identities, escalating chaos, and big comedic roles. Auditions run Dec. 28–29 at Playhouse 111, with performances March 13–29. No preparation needed.

Where do we perform and how often? Our building host an impressive but cozy +170 seat theatre with some of the latest sound and lighting technology on a generous stage. We are located near the corner of Hale Street and Front Street in the heart of Downtown Wheaton. Each production schedules 15-16 performances typically occurring Thursday thru Saturday evenings at 7:30pm with Sunday matinees at 3pm.

How often are rehearsals scheduled? Our rehearsal schedule is based on each production’s cast and crew availability. The schedule typically consists of 3-4 weekday evenings and a weekend afternoon for approximately 6 weeks. Additionally, two more weeks which precede opening are devoted to integrating the technical aspects of each show with the cast performances and are more frequent during the final week consisting of daily dress rehearsals.
